The publication

The DNP User Group published the following news on March 2nd 2016:

As a result of Vote2016-01 (where User Group members gave a positive vote for a document change), the DNP Technical Committee has released the following Technical Bulletin (TB):

  • TB2016-001 Update of Internal Indications 2.0, 2.1, and 2.2

The TB (dated March 2nd 2016) describes the expected behaviour of an outstation when it receives a read request for data that it does not have.

How does this affect WITS users?

This has no impact on WITS users.

How does this affect WITS vendors?

The existing Field Devices available from vendors should already cope with this type of request but they may not respond in the way indicated in the Technical Bulletin. The WITS Protocol Standards Association Committee recommends that vendors check what impact this change may have on their implementation.
