The new version 3.1 of the WITS-DNP3 protocol has been published.

All the Protocol documentation is included in the new Release 8 of the Technical Documentation pack which contains

1. The Application Notes
2. The Device Profiles

The main difference is the addition of specifications for the introduction of Calculated Points.

The DNP Technical Committee has released the following Technical Bulletin (TB):

• TB2016-004 Updated Unsolicited Reporting Requirements for Constrained Environments

The TB (dated November 29^th 2016) makes minor changes to the DNP3 specification, describing that outstations may not always be able to communicate “immediately” due to constraints outside of the DNP3 protocol.
